Like I said, on Saturday night we – Christine (my wife) and I, Jean-Pierre, Louise and Michaela and Denise and Ian, went to evening mass and then to my home to wait for Father Christmas and make merry. He did come and I invite you to guess who he is:
Pictures show:
Top left: Santa arrives, the door is opened and Michaela rushes to meet him.
Bottom Left: Michaela hugs Santa excitedly
Right: Santa enjoys a glass of mulled wine with the family.
This year will be the last for Santa. After this Christmas he will be pensioned-off following a number of years showing up every Christmas eve. Michaela has a good hunch who Santa is (do you?) and so better stop the game now and leave her with that little bit of uncertainty. Kids grow up so quickly, unfortunately for us grown-ups.
Kids are funny, mine worked out the deal when they were about 4 but continue to play along to this day (oldest is 14). I think they just love the fun of it all
the Santa idea is a great one, and one I'm sure that will be missed if it is to end. Hopefully something can be done to at least replace the tradition with something just as exciting.
wonderful wonderful Santa - a joy for everyone. the end of a tradition is just too hard - you will need to come up with something else to look forward too.
nice collage! I obviously know who Santa is hehehe! Michaela first made sure she got all the presents and opened them, then quickly proceeded to ask a lot of questions and make a lot of observations which were highly suggestive and very close to home, but never going all out to suggest she knew exactly who Santa was hehehe! So crafty of her! hehehe
