July 21st Aspire to a place in Heaven. The Spire of St Peter’s Cathedral in Geneva is pointing the way to Heaven where every believer aspires to go one day.
The St. Pierre Cathedral today belongs to the Swiss Reformed Church. It’s history goes back to the 12th century, and includes a mix of styles. It is best known as the adopted home church of John Calvin, one of the leaders of the Protestant Reformation. Inside the church is a wooden chair used by Calvin which I missed ( I was not aware it was there).
The area beneath the Cathedral reveals a rich history of the site dating back to the time of the Roman Empire.
