LYING IN STATE

Kings and queens and leaders around the world are given a state funeral and are laid in state so that people can pay homage to them for their achievements or significant impact on their society. But this Man, the King of Kings, Saviour of all mankind, was quickly wrapped in a linen sheet and put away in a rock-huen grave, supposedly not to be seen again. His impact on all mankind was significant in His days and has continued till this day and will continue for many more years.

Yesterday, Good Friday, Christine and I together with my sister and her husband went to watch the Good Friday procession at Birgu (also known as Vittoriosa). It was the first time for us to be there for the occasion. We were there a bit early and on the walk to the place were the procession was to pass we stopped to see an exhibition about the subject at the Dominican convent also at Birgu. This is one of the shots I took of the exhibition. The statue is life-size.
I took many pictures of the procession and may post some in due course.
Thank you so much for looking and for your wonderful comments and fav’s on yesterday’s picture.
