Shot taken on 25th October, the last day of our last but one week-end in Gozo. Posting early as we have been advised that we may not have internet access during the whole day today.
Not much else to show for this last day. After a relaxing day and a walk to Ir-Ramla we packed and drove to the ferry quay to take the boat back to Malta. We were in one car and my brother-in-law was driving. I had seen the sky turning red and wanted to go out for some shots but by the time we loaded our bags in the car and started on our way the magical sunset was almost over. This is what I managed to capture of it at the first opportunity.
Joe knocked on the gate of a brothel in a red light district. The madam opened the brothel door to see a young man called Akpos. His clothes were all tattered and he looked needy.
“Yes?” the madam asked.
I want Miriam,” Joe replied.
“Young Man, Miriam is one of our most expensive ladies, perhaps someone else…”
“No, I must see Miriam.” Joe replied. Just then Miriam appeared and told Joe that she charges 5000 Euros per visit”.
Joe never blinked and reached into his pocket and handed her fifty pieces of E100 notes. The two went up to a room for an hour whereupon Joe calmly left.
The next night he appeared again demanding Miriam. Again Miriam charged Joe 5000 Euros.
When Joe showed up the third consecutive night, no one could believe it. Again he handed Miriam the money and up to the room they went.
At the end of the hour Miriam questioned Joe: “No one has ever used my services three nights in a row… where are you from?”
Joe replied, “I am from Sliema.” “Really?” replied Miriam, “I have a brother who lives there and does business.”
Yes; I know,” Joe replied. “He gave me E15000 to give to you”.
Many thanks for looking and for all the lovely comments and the fav's on yesterday's picture.
Love the intensive red sunset.
