As we made the round of Altars of Repose in different localities we saw many statues related to the passion of Christ. This one, for me, was the most evocative. I am not sure if it is the same one of Christ falling under the Cross which I admired so much last year; if it is, it still hit me hard and is one of the most beautiful I ever I saw in my life – and it is a modern version by a well-known still alive sculptor and statuerian we have in the Maltese Islands. I love the pose of Christ reaching out with his hand to stop His fall.; it looks so very natural.
Thank you for looking and for all the wonderful comments and the fav’s on yesterday and for putting it on tp and pp. Very much appreciated.
A strong Biblical image, well captured Fav.
