BRIDGING THE GAP by sangwann

BRIDGING THE GAP

Shot taken at Wied il-Qlejgha a few weeks ago. In the late 1890’s , a series of dams were built along this valley to keep rain water from rushing down to the sea so that it could serve farmers in this area and to serve as a habitat for different for a and fauna. It was built by Oswald Chadwick, governor of Malta at the time and nowadays it is better known as Chadwick Lines. After a rainy period it is a lovey place to go for a walk along the ‘lakes’.
Thank you so much for all your views, for your comments and for all the fav's. They are very much appreciated.
I imagine the wildlife enjoy it when the rains have been there too.
