We were staying at the YHA The Rocks and cannot praise it too highly. From our 3rd floor room (ensuite and better than some hotels) this was our night time view! It was pretty dramatic on the second night when there was a thunderstorm!!
I had such a limited perspective of the Opera House from the photos / TV clips I'd seen. Walking round the area was delightful and we enjoyed a leisurely afternoon exploring the area at a gentle pace! Lovely Botanic Gardens behind too.
