Once of the senior office bearers at our church has recently retired as he's had some health issues in the last couple of years. Instead of a gift for himself he wanted the donations from people to go towards something for the church......and everyone was delighted with this specially commissioned candle holder which sits on top of the organ or on the table at the front of the church.
Tonight I was close enough to see the details and it's really very special.
Three good things
1. Faithful people who do unseen things over many years
2. Really good friends......we have a lot of them!
3. Small group meetings......they can be just as valuable as the large crowd ones! Tonight we were exploring a book called 'If you want to walk on water you have to get out of the boat!' It's a good one!!!
