on the bus

Last night the train journey ended at Inverness and the last stretch to Tain was by coach. Initially I was disappointed as I knew I would be later getting to Mum and Dad's, but actually it was quite a pleasant ride along the old A9 which was used before the Kessock and Cromarty Bridges were built over thirty years ago. Bit of a nostalgia trip really. I love the flat land and big skies though the hills are never far away.
Another funeral of a family friend - the third this year held in the local Church of Scotland and again over 700 people there! So many shared community interests and family connections and generational friendships in these parts of the country.
And nice to have visits from sister Kate and brother Archie who called to see Mum and Dad today!
