My mum had some special treasure this weekend when I was up north. She had been out for lunch with my sister, her lovely neighbour and her sister-in-law, who had brought her a family photo album that she had found. Her husband, Mum's baby brother, passed away two years ago and they all felt that very keenly because he was the youngest in the family.
To Mum he was really special. She was telling us again that when he was born she gave her doll to her sister.....a big thing really as toys were few and far between! But she was 11 and had real baby around so that was much more appealing! And she has adored babies and children ever since! She had seven of her own and is Auntie and 'adopted auntie' to hundreds who lived in the neighbourhood, or went to Sunday School, or were our friends.....and she has 22 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. ..soon to be 7. And she loves every single one in very special ways!
No wonder she is surrounded by love at 91!
Three good things
1. Mum
2. Warmth and care and privilege of a loving home
3. Time with one of my brothers and two of my sisters at the weekend 😊
Thank you for your kind comments.
