The message of old stones

We had a very interesting visit to the Black Isle today. It's a curious name as it's not an island - actually a peninsula and only black in the sense of very fertile ground.
But there was an open day at Kirkmichael Cemetery, a historic place where enthusiastic volunteers have worked hard to restore an ancient church building and the treasure contained in the gravestones surrounding it. One of those volunteers is a good friend of Allan from his Gaelic learner days.
Three good things
1. Glorious sunshine and beautiful surroundings
2. Such a knowledgeable chap telling us so much information.
3. Lovely wander around Cromarty afterwards - and a tasty lunch and a lovely cup of coffee.
Well spotted.

I had a cat named Cromarty! (Named for the breeder from whom I got him)
Your cultural wonders are so much older than places here in the US.

The cemetery is the place where I look back to the past! The graves recall a life and those who commemorated it! I like the photo!
