heuchera survivor

In my big patio border clear up on Saturday I found the remains, and perhaps beginnings, of my Heuchera plant. I loved the rich colours so I hope they survive the gales and worse that are forecast for the rest of the week!!
Three good things
1. Busy children at school
2. Brisk walks and resisted taking the car after lunch.
3. Keeping cosy......staying inside and finishing reports rather than going to Pilates tonight!!
I need to do that - get rid of a lot of dead leaves before the plants rot underneath. You can guarantee a hard frost as soon as it's done though!

I have a few leaves but not as many as when the beech hedges & trees start shedding their leaves......I think leaves are good mulch though & can't understand Harry when he has to blow them & bag them.......I never did that when we were milking & I looked after all things garden! Exciting seeing the new growth coming up through the winter remains!

Love the colors and textures in this shot. I'm so glad to be getting out in my garden after a long, cold winter.

Lovely rich colours and good to find new growth during your clearup. Very satisfying even when you get a little bit tidy. Hope your garden survives the gales.

Lovely to see the plants pushing their way through the ground, despite the cold weather.
