This dear little lady came into our yard today and hungrily gobbled up the cabbage I put down for her. Poor girl has been a bit battered, and also had cement on her back??? Who would do something like that? Unfortunately Max & Charlie turned her over when I went back indoors, so we decided it would be safest to take her to a big empty piece of ground far away from dogs and cars and cement and let her go free before she got hurt any more.
She certainly lucked in coming into your yard. Though my first thought with the cement was that maybe it had been done so she wouldn't be killed for her beautiful shell...is that a possibility or am I being naive?!
