Little Surfers

Went in to Cape Town today to have lunch with family who are here from Jo'burg to ride in the Cape Argus Cycle Tour tomorrow. We all met up at the Blue Peter for lunch. Was drizzling all morning, but it started clearing up at lunch time and I got in a couple of not very good shots on the beach waiting for the kids to arrive
I think this is a really vivid candid shot - shows location perfectly - and the girl looking right at you is great

@anniesue Thanks Annie-Sue. Wasn't able to put the horizon on the classic thirds without losing half the sky, or cropping the legs off the people, so it is not the correct composition at all. Cropping the sky down changes the whole look and feel, and I really didn't like it.

@seacreature I always think of thirds as a guide not a rule ;-)

Great shot... The colours, composition, that mountain (I've forgotten the name!) in the background... And I agree with @anniesue, rules are made to be broken 😄

@narayani Thanks Narayani. That's Table Mountain in the background, . @anniesue Yes, thirds are just a guideline - but usually a good guideline.
