Week 50 of 52

Almost at the end of this 52 week challenge! This week's theme is Hats. I had a vision ... but this is not quite it. My vision needs a hat with a bigger, softer brim to make a lovely elegant "S" curve, and rim lighting. I guess for the rim lighting maybe sunset will do, otherwise I'll need to experiment. But for now this image will have to do as it is due for submission tonight!
I love it as an almost-silhouette.

I like the lighting and the pose...I find the bars a little distracting...hope you don't mind me saying that Desi!

@narayani Thanks so much for the feedback Narayani. I don't mind you saying that at all. For me, negative feedback is not criticism of me, but an opportunity to learn so I'm very grateful for comments such as that.

@seacreature it wasn't meant to be negative!

@narayani Sorry - I meant constructive - I know it's not negative. But whatever, I am really, really happy when people give me an honest opinion. One doesn't learn anything from comments that love everything even when there is something not quite right, so I'll never take it personally when I'm told that there is something that's not working for them.

@seacreature :) me too

I definitely agree the proportion of hat to head/hair/neck needs to change (I quite like the bars, but would be interested to see a redo without them)

@anniesue Thanks Annie-Sue. As soon as I get a chance (and a bigger hat) then I will ask my friend to model for me again with and without the bars. One of my huge challenges with the bars is all the chromatic aberration due to shooting from the shade indoors into the mid afternoon sunlight outside. But the whole exercise has been an interesting challenge in learning a little bit more about light and shadow
