Remembrance Day, Poppy Day, and for some of us it is UDI Day too. I was just a little girl when Rhodesia declared independence, but I still remember my parents excitement and positivity, and the fear and negativity of some. I remember being a Brownie and selling poppies. I remember standing to attention in the hot Rhodesian sun, in my brownie uniform, until I fainted, honouring those who had died in the wars. No, I shall never forget this day.
