Decided to take my slightly newer camera out walking today - the one that normally stays home for table top work, with a 40mm prime lens to see if perhaps I might want to use that combo for the wedding. I actually found it extremely awkward to use, I guess mainly because I usually use it on a tripod in controlled conditions, and I am used to my old 450d for walking around with. The camera body is much smaller and lighter, and I found it difficult to hold and focus with one hand while holding dogs leashes in the other as the buttons are in different places, but mainly the body is so small and light I had difficulty keeping a grip on it and trying to move my thumb to adjust the focus. But I won't have dogs at the wedding, so maybe I need to give this camera a fairer trial.
I think any camera while walking dogs is tricky! Is the bride going to be walking here coz there’s no obvious poles in this perspective?

There's something about having some heft when you're trying to stay steady.

@narayani Yes the bride was going to be walking here - until tonight! All my practice and along the path - right up along the jetty where the boat Sandpiper is moored has resulted in one thing ... changing the place where she will get onto the boat. It was very low tide at 10am today, and the mud looked quite ugly so no nice reflections as she walks along the jetty. But that also made me wonder whether a deep keeler could even get out in low tide, so I researched the tides and found it will be a super low tide at 10am on her wedding day. Phoned the skipper tonight, and he has now said he will have to moor Sandpiper at another jetty to get her out for the wedding. The skipper should have done his homework when he took the charter, but I'm glad I think I have saved the day! So now we won't be walking down this path at all, but from the hotel straight onto their jetty. A whole new kettle of fish looking straight into the morning sun, so a whole lot more practice and planning for me!

@bf2016 Yes there sure is something about a bit of heft. My hubby can't understand why I am not trying to find the smallest, lightest, camera I can.
