I went to a "flash workshop" this morning, and this lovely young woman plus a young male friend of hers came to model for us to get some practice. This is not one of my practice assignment shots - I was in the group taking turns to shoot the young guy, but after we had done our assignment shots they set up a more professional shot so I didn't have a chance to shoot her with flash but just bumped my iso up high and tried to get a few shots between all the other heads and arms etc. of attendees in front of me.
@pusspup Thanks. I think you are probably right there ... a couple of hours of posing for one learner after another to do their assignment shots before the pros set her up with studio strobes around her was probably quite tiring! Also, of course, I had to try and get my shot in between the pros and the other learners in front of me (I'm afraid I am not pushy enough to get to the front), so I probably wasn't in the right place for eye contact etc. as she was looking at the real photographers then.
@ludwigsdiana Thanks Diana. Yes she is a lovely girl isn't she. I believe she will be going to Stellenbosch next year. She looks so mature and grown up I had no idea she was only just about to start university
