We went walking on the nearby beach this morning for the first time in ages. I have avoided the beach since a winter storm a year ago washed away the restaurant and only inhabited place, because it became quite isolated and I felt too vulnerable after seeing some drunk folk there with quart beer bottles. But as I had someone to accompany me, decided it was good time to revisit the local beach
@ludwigsdiana Thanks Diana. Yes it is a pity. Maybe it is quite safe, but although it is not isolated right next to the harbour, it is kind of hidden from view because the storm washed away the gently sloping beach leaving a "cliff" a couple of meters high so nobody sees you down there now unless they come to the edge.
@narayani Yes it is idyllic really, and maybe the danger is all in my head. But I started feeling a little vulnerable when I realised that since the storms one is totally invisible down there now, except if someone was to come right there. The road, and fish 'n chip shop etc. are about 50m away, so it seemed silly to go where I didn't feel safe.
@anniesue Thanks Annie-Sue. We all enjoyed our run / walk on the beach, especially the dogs! Lindy ran on ahead with the younger dogs while I walked with little old Tug. Teensy Holly ran twice the distance of anybody as she would run with Lindy, then come dashing back to check on me, then run ahead to catch up with Lindy again. She has spent the rest of the day totally tuckered out.
Lovely to see your step-daughter with the 'pack'...whilst you take the more leisurely pace with Tug. More than anything, I'm comparing your weather to ours...2C
@s4sayer Yes, your weather is very, very different with our temperatures in the thirties. I need to get the dogs out walking by 7am otherwise it is just too hot later in the day
