Flame Lily in remembrance

I didn't take this photo today. I took it many years ago. But it has to be my photo for today. Not only is this Remembrance Day, or Poppy Day, for Rhodesians it is also UDI Day, so the flame lily is in remembrance of all those who died in the World Wars including many battalions of Rhodesian soldiers, and also in remembrance of all the brave soldiers, men and women, black and white, who died keeping me safe while I grew up in the middle of a terrorist war in Rhodesia. Even my mother was part of that effort - while my father was out tracking terrorists, my mother was manning the radios. 6 weeks on duty. 6 weeks off. ..
