Protea by seacreature

Protea

My friend Karen popped by with a bunch of Proteas for me on 8th Feb, the first anniversary of Don's passing. She must've remembered that I had been looking for proteas to commemorate our wedding anniversary. I was too busy on that day to shoot the flowers, but took the opportunity today instead to attempt a few flower shots
Lovely shot Desi and what a thoughtful friend. Hope you’re doing ok x

@narayani Thanks Narayani. Yes I am doing fine thank you. I still miss Don, but I am managing to accept that I can be grateful for all the good things that came out of all our years together

What a sweet friend! It’s such a beautiful exotic flower. Do you know what the little pink flowers are??

@anniesue Thanks Annie-Sue. I think it is more the variety than the stage. Proteas and fynbos come from South Africa so we probably have more variants than are usually seen in other countries?

@beckyk365 Thanks Becky. I am not sure exactly what the small pink flowers are but will attempt to find out. I am pretty certain they are a form of fynbos just like Proteas are part of the fynbos kingdom, but I am only just starting to learn the names of even basic flowers that you guys all know ...
