I was out working on brewery business all morning, and then this afternoon have been giving interviews to the local press, and a national health freelance journalist. Tomorrow it is the local TV news for Ben and me.
The hospital where Ben had his operation have issued a press release about saving his life with a world first operation, and it seems that this is a very newsworthy story!
So, unfortunately for those of you in the East Midlands, you may have to put up with my ugly mug on the news tomorrow night possibly!!
Here is a picture I was asked to take of Ben for the local news website and some of the journalists. I will pop a couple more canal shots online later!!
Ben is looking well and what a great portrait of him. How awesome that he and his pop are being featured on the news. We want to see clips. Can you link them somehow once it's aired. What a smile...and who can blame him. He's got lots to smile about:).
Gorgeous natural portrait of Ben. Quite something being someone who is the recipient of a "world first" but he looks like the sort of young man who will take all that in his stride.
How exciting that the hospital and your family is getting some press!! Ben looks healthy and happy! Great portrait!! I wish I could see your news story!
How exciting that is...I wish I lived in the East Midlands so could watch. Just shows how pioneering Ben is & the trauma you all went through.
Ben might even end up in the Lancet!
Good looking young man that he is.....hope it all goes well!
Nice to see Leicestershire had Grammer Schools!
@amandal@sianb@dh@jocasta@kwind@brigette@trudio@ceilidh@lesip@happypat@cazla Thankyou everyone. I really have one of those faces and physiques better suited to radio, so it is not something that I am looking forward to, but if it gives Ben his 15 minutes and gives some poistive publicity to the hopsital I am happy to do it. For this of you in the UK with Sky you may find that there is a channel buried on your planner with BBC1 East Midlands on it, which will show our news rather than your own regional news. For those outside the UK, I will see if there is a link somewhere.
@rvwalker I don't recognose the big chap on the left, but it is definitely my son and wife! The TV interviews are planned for 4-45 and 5-15 our time, and will go out at between 6pm and 6-30pm on ITV and 6-30 and 7-00pm on BBC1 in the UK.
