This is one of the worst photos I have posted on 365 in a long time, but it captures the moment when Ben was interviewed by Amy Harris of East Midlands Today in our lounge earlier today and I had to get what I could and not distract Ben.
It will not run until tomorrow, Afterwards, Amy had the task of editing the piece with an interview with Rebecca and me, and Ben and Sam playing table tennis in the garden, and then adding an interview with Ben's consultant tomorrow. It should run tomorrow from 6-28am in the news bulletins, and then feature on East Midlands Today tomorrow night.
Ah here we are......looks very intense, Ben did well not to be put off by all that tech stuff. I did log into East Midland tonight but was only showing last nights stuff so will only be online from Thursday probably. This is one for the album definitely Sean!
Wow, that's not the sort of subject you'd see in many family albums!
All this must be very exciting but I should think it's rather nerve-wracking as well. I bet you'll be glad to get back to everyday life?
Wow, what a story! What a life! God bless your whole family. Oh, and you've so many photos that are awesome, you could slip in a picture that your phone took in your pocket and we wouldn't dare judge.
Beautiful story Sean, I didn't know the intricacies of it until reading the article. It was a lovely happy shot of the three of you. You've documented the interview very nicely. All the best to Ben for a bright future.
Sean, blessings to Ben and your family. How wonderful that he is so stoic and willing to meet whatever challenge is before him. Sharing his story has given us all the opportunity to send our prayers and best wishes.
Is Ben comfortable with the media attention? I think it's great if it helps publicise the good work of the hospital and staff. It certainly is a wonderful story!
I would have expected a few Sean O'Neill originals hanging in your lounge room???
Oh Sean, you and your family must have had a very hard time. I just read the article. I am so happy for you all that the surgery went well!!! All the best for Ben and his future :)
@tomtom he is very cool with it Andrew. We are delighted to be able to praise the hospital and staff to a wider audience. Yes, i missed a trick, they do exist, but in other rooms!!
I thought it was you sean, i just saw bbc east mids today and recognised your name as a 365 er and follower of a few of my friends, i remember reading one of your posts back in the day about your son in hospital.Hope he can whup you at table tennis now :-)
Love seeing your family photo in the article. You all look so well and happy. Very cool about the interview. Nice to hear amazing, miraculous and good news for a change, eh?
Missed the news will see if can get on internet. You must be so proud of Ben. Wishing you all the best, may he enjoy all he has to come in life, and may you and Rebecca enjoy watching him live life to the full.
Sometimes the story makes the photo...and this shot is one of those photos. Great story and I like the photo...has a very New York night street feel from the 1960's vibe.
