Sloes by shepherdman

Sloes

Sloes are almost ready for picking. Sloes are the fruit of the blackthorne bush, and should traditionally be picked after the first frost before being used to make Sloe Gin. If we waited for the first frost, this seasonal liqueur would never be ready in time for Christmas. My favourite recipe? http://www.suttonelms.org.uk/sloe%20gin.html.
Nicely captured....quite interesting. Thanks for sharing this information.
