Honey bees must have been struggling to forage this year. Not only has the weather has not been good flying weather, but I’m sure that there have been fewer wild flowers, and many of our garden flowers that have usually been open for a while by now have been on the verge of bursting for weeks. The exception has been foxgloves – both in the wild and in the garden, they seem to have been flowering for longer, and are taller than normal – some well over six feet in our garden
