I couldnt think of an interesting title, so a descriptive one will have to do. The round straw bales are still with us in the field at the back, lined up along the crest of the field against the sunset. At least all the crop is now “gathered in”. Once the farmer had a weather window of opportunity, it was all hands to the plough. Well, all hands to the combine, tractors and baler, anyway. Actually some of the fields are now empty, and have had a “rough ploughing” around the field edges, leaving stubble in the middle. I’m never sure why farmers do this.
