This fallen tree has been lying at the edge of a field for several months, since the farmer dragged it from its position amongst the crop to lie alongside to the hedge when he ploughed last autumn. We regularly passed at on our dog walks, and I have taken a few photographs of the disintegrating trunk and branches over winter. Last week I notice a new gap in the hedge between the field and the Lane. A few yards further on was the tree, stripped of branches. Someone spotted some free firewood…
