Having walked around the fields with the dogs, we joined the footpath that links the two villages that are each half a mile from our home in different directions. The footpath ascends the edge of Croft Hill, with views westward to the evening sky, silhouetting gates on to the fields that we have just left. The footpath passes the top of our Lane, and so I left it at this point to return home. If I had continued the path would have led down to the next village, and my local pub, but that is for another evening
