The footpath around the field edges is now more than waist high with grasses, with shoulder high cow parsley at the side, and with what I think (judging from its leaves, and with the help of my wildlife book) is hemlock standing up against the hedgerow, towering above my head. These grassy routes are not popular with the dogs – their only option is a straight-line through a tunnel of green, with an occasional leap sideways onto the adjacent path of a pair left by tractor wheels. Even the poppies at the edge of the crop bow down over the dogs heads. Much preferred is the grazed cows field, provided that the cows are away to one end, almost out of site.
Know exactly what you mean, long tick ridden grass vs charging cows. This is a wonderful shot, yes I am having a bonanza with my wild flower book this year!
