The sun was setting as we set off on our walk last night, even though it was before 9pm. I’m sorry top have to conclude that the nights are drawing in….. Good news for those in the southern hemisphere of course- spring is not far away! But at least the clear, almost cloudless, sky meant that it was a long dusk, although the poor light restricted photo opportunites, hence an iamge similar to one taken a few days ago. This time of day is certainly favoured by the dogs, who prefer the cooler conditions, especially as we descended into the shallow valley behind our home, and it got noticeably chilly. It was clear that there was a layer of cool air just above the surface of the field, trapping and concentrating scents, and both dogs were off, running around in large circles, occasionally sprinting away, noses firmly stuck to the ground.
