We usually access the fields close to our home through a “kissing gate” (and I have been known to take advantage of shepherdmans wife from time to time....) which, over the summer, has become just a little overgrown from the adjacent hedge. For the last few days access has been easier as the main field gates have been open to allow combines, tractors, trailers, and all the paraphernalia of modern agriculture to get onto the fields and properly finish the old agricultural year and prepare for the new.
The large gates open out across the kissing gate, imprisoning the wild hedgerow flowers behind bars.
