Taken during the only wet morning dog walk our Cornish holiday, when rain swept in from the sea over the fields on the hills behind the village of Mousehole, and Shepherds Wife took shelter behind a hedge while the dogs and I braved the wind and rain and ascended for a further couple of fields before returning down the footpath. In most of the UK Fuchsias are a garden shrub, not particularly hardy, but in this part of south west Cornwall they grow wild in hedgerows, as here, and in fact in some places they actually form a hedge atop the grassy embankments on either side of the narrow country lanes.
I missed that one whilst sheltering from the rain that was pelting down sideways! Well done for getting that one. Btw how did you keep your camera dry?
Fuschias are some of my favorite flowers! I can't grow them here... winter is pretty brutal and summer winds hammer them to death. So I appreciate people who share fuschias with me. These are beautiful.
