One of our dog walks in Yorkshire- a track at the edge of the village, descending between trees and mossy dry stone walls, viewed through an old stone post. The post seems to have been an old gate post, although I’m not sure what the large hole was for. It is large enough to hold a timber beam, and so I suppose that the post could originally have been part of a stone barn before the village where my sister lives grew out over the fields, as villages tend to do.
