Warming wings by shepherdman

Warming wings

We spotted this Peacock butterfly sunning itself on the warm brickwork of the old barn next to the field track behind our home. It was a breezy day, and the butterfly had found a true sun trap, out of the wind, to warm its wings. Naturally we were both @shepherdmanswife and I) were competing to get close – I was at a disadvantage, since I was holding Lesia on a lead, and I wasn’t going to drag her into knee high nettles. Eventually we were interrupted as a runner passed by, Lesia barked, we both looked up to see the reason for the barking, and the butterfly flew off into the breeze
Wonderful capture. I like the composition and textures.
