Well, here we are in British Columbia. We fought our way through three long immigration queues, got shouted at as we joined a fourth queue to hand in our forms telling the Authorities why we were here, collected our bags and a hire car, battled through the Vancouver rush-hour with a Satnav that abandoned us at every vital turn, but made it to Squamish, where our friend lives, an hour or so from Vancouver.
Squamish is delightful, situated on the Howesound Fjord, and surrounded by mountains, and since we are staying with a resident we are already feeling part of the community, having visited the local Fall Fair this morning. Afterwards we took a cable car to a mountain top in Stawamus Chief Provincial Park for superb views over the Fjord and panorama of mountains. We crossed a suspension bridge to a view point, where these two were having a quiet moment together (until we arrived) and then went on a couple of short hikes, or at least they would have been short if @shepherdmanswife hadn’t spent so long behind her camera. We almost missed our pre-booked table on the outdoors deck of the restaurant, but the waiter had patiently kept it for us and so we dined while watching the ever-changing colours of the sky as the sun set behind the mountains. Absolutely perfect.
Lovely shot - worth all that effort to get through all those queues! Our son from NZ has competed in woodchopping events at Squamish and loves the place too.
Great to hear where you are staying in Canada and with a friend - the best way! There are a lot of suspension bridges around there. A great start to a diary of wonderful photographs! fav
