@shepherdmanswife and I both set off with the dogs on Sunday afternoon afternoon, to catch the last of the sunshine, which had made a late appearance after a pretty dismal day. Most dog owners will know that with dogs one just doesn’t walk out of the house, what with boots to put on, and dog paraphernalia to gather together - leads, treats, poo-bags, all hampered by, in our case, two excited pooches. In consequence, by the time that we finally walked down the Lane and through the gate into the fields, the gorgeously golden low afternoon sunshine had morphed into a sunset, with fiery clouds arching over our heads as they carried away the last of the day’s rain on the wind. Naturally the sunset kept us both busy with our cameras, @shepherdmanswife opting for a point of view over flooded ruts in the stubble, whereas I scrambled through nettles and weeds of a vantage spot on the tumbled down brick of the old barn. With the prospect of returning home in the dark, Tia and I left Lesia and @shepherdmanswife, still taking photographs, as we continued on our walk under the deepening scarlet of the dusk sky.
