The snow a couple of evenings ago may not have lasted long, but it was, briefly, quite heavy as we left home on the afternoon dog walk, the snow sprinkling the bare fields like icing sugar on a chocolate cake. By the time that we had turned onto an adjacent by the old barn the snow was already easing off, and the sky brightening. We reached the bottom of the field to walk alongside the river and the low evening sun broke through the clouds, sandwiched between retreating snow clouds and heaped up cumulonimbus clouds on the horizon. The sun set behind the clouds, tinging them with burnished gold before the light started to fade. There may not have been much lying snow to play in but Tia made the most of it in the golden sunshine. Tia’s paws were clearly immune to the cold, but my hands were distinctly chilly as we turned back up the hill to the lane and home to the warmth of the log burner.
I feel I'm in the scene with your descriptive words! Thanks for taking the effort to make this seem real, along with the photo! She looks desperate to get back to you!
I told your wife I would ship you some of our snow. Imagine getting Tia to chase snow balls. LOL Love this I almost want to back off so her paws don't knock me over.
