Calke Abbey parkland by shepherdman

Calke Abbey parkland

We had a day trip to Calke Abbey in Derbyshire on Sunday. @shepherdmanswife travelled fully kitted out for photographing autumn colours, an indication that the process could be time consuming, and so Tia and I were dropped off at a nearby village for to enjoy a four mile walk to Calke Abbey. Our walk finished on a gravelled road across the Abbey Parkland, the portico frontage of the large stately home appearing in front of us. We had trouble locating @shepherdmanswife – I called her to ask her location with respect to the house and got a reply “House? What house?” We eventually met up while I was taking this shot, @shepherdmanswife grumbling that my phone calls to locate her had interrupted her search for autumn colours. So if there are none on her project, it’s all my fault.
Gorgeous colours, maybe @shepherdmanswife should have stayed with you :)

Your stories always make me smile. Lovely photo of autumn colours and I like the dead tree in amongst all the others.

Are fall colors late in you area. I thought they would never come to Maine. Not all easy to do photography with another person. I am learning that.

But you got some! Funny how when you try to go look for them, you forget to look around where you are.
