I cycled home in the gathering dusk last night, as a dense mist formed in fields below the cycle track, like the sea lapping at the sides of a causeway. It was almost dark when I took Tia out for a walk after getting home, and the mist formed banks of fog on the far side of the fields. We crossed the riverside “cows field” , where a blanket of mist swirled around our wellies and paws, but no higher. I expected thick fog in the valley on our return trip but all had dispersed, leaving a clear night and a deep orange moon above the horizon, striped with gathering rain clouds.
