Our local village service of remembrance. The whole service is held around the war memorial, not just the wreath laying, and it is always well attended. Each year I walk down with a dog or dogs – this year it was Tia who lay patiently at my feet for an hour or so. Following The Last Post played by a lone bugler, the two minute silence begins with a (recorded) canon shot, scattering startled pigeons from the tree tops, wings clattering in the distance to leave a contrasting and poignant reflective quietness. This image is of the preparation for the laying of wreaths following the silence. A busy shot, probably too busy in photogenic terms, and there will no doubt be many similar ones on 365, but I hope you don’t mind me sharing our village remembering.
I don't think it is too busy. I think photos should capture the mood and atmosphere of the event, and yours has done that very well. What impresses me is the large turnout, and also the number of younger people. Our remembrance service here in France on Wednesday will, I think, be mostly attended by pensioners.
Lovely tribute for remembrance day. I don't think it is too busy at all it captures the feeling of the day. It is nice to see so many people attending especially the young. I note you have a brownie pack there, brilliant.
