Another later-than-planned trip around the quarry edge to descend to the wildlife ponds. From the ridge above the ponds I could see that the last of the morning mist was rising, revealing a lone dog walker on the far side of the pond. We descended the steps to the largest pond, with not even a hint of mist above the mirror-still surface
