We hiked and then sat down for a meal enjoying the sunset and views of Howe Sound and Squamish at sea level 885m below. Err..... We didn't actually hike to the top and then have a picnic. There is a perfectly good gondola ride up to hiking routes and a restaurant with viewing decks. The trails ensure that you can earn your meal should you wish to, and have panoramic views. We managed a mile or two. 2 years ago we rode the gondolas only a few months after they had opened, and enjoyed fine food and wine. This year the gondola ride was just as dramatic, but the restaurant food is mostly burgers, perhaps understandable with a family trade to cater for.
This would be a wonderful outing! Looks so high and yet you don't have to climb to it. I wouldn't mind the hamburgers just to be able to sit down here and look at this!
