First blossom by shepherdman

First blossom

The first oil seed rape blossom in the field behind our home. At this time of the year rape grows rapidly, growing from cabbage-like ground hugging plants (they are, after all, members of the cabbage family) to knee-high plants within a couple of weeks. At the moment most of the blossoms are tight buds, but within a couple of weeks the field behind us will be a sea of bright sweet-smelling yellow.
I also noticed the oil seed in flowers today. It does create such bold colour. I hope you don't suffer with hay fever...

Green and yellow, the colours of Spring. Nicely done. Look forward to seeing how the field progresses.

Wonderful capture -fav - Only problem is it heralds the start of the hay fever season, once those flowers get into full bloom :-(
