Its been a while since I last uploaded. Time to get back into the routine! I believe that this is chicory, photographed at the field edge before the crop of rape was harvested. The field was reduced to thick woody rape-stubble several days ago, and as I type a large tractor is trundling around the field turning over the top few inches of soil, burying the short stalks.
