St Michael's and All Angels Church, Croft by shepherdman

St Michael's and All Angels Church, Croft

Last night was "dog walking night", a weekly event when a group of friends join Tia and I for a stroll down to the village. Tia can be a bit headstrong, and no matter how much we try to continue our walk through the village she always turns sharp left up the steps to the Heathcote Arms, where she gets fed gravy bones by the landlady, and peanuts by one of my friends. We pass the church as we enter the village, and are greeted by a peal of bells, since Tuesday night is bell-ringing practice. All was quiet last night as the church is temporarily closed for some refurbishment, but at least the sunset on the church tower made up for the silence. No camera (I would only have left it in the pub!) and so a phone-shot.
The square tower is indicative of a particular religion isn't it? As opposed to the pointed steeple! Would have been love to hear the bell ringing!

Very unusual light

@maggiemae. It is more likely to be an architectural style or a characteristic of the region rather than having a religious significance

PS - whilst I'm sure you can leave most of the new pup's training to @shepherdmanswife , there are some areas which are undoubtedly best left to you!!

That's a beautiful golden light on the church. Seems a very pleasant walk to me - especially the passing the pub bit.
