If my route takes me through the sheep field I step off the field track by the old barn to look around the hedge. From here I can see where the sheep are grazing. If they are flocked together at the far end, all is well. Today they were grazing across the footpath. I walked slowly through them, dogs on short leads, and the sheep parted without panic.
