Rotting Leaf on black background

I had been off work for several weeks earlier this year with pneumonia. As I recovered I became very bored. I found this leaf and set up this photo, using my 60 mm macro lens, on a black background. At full size and zoomed in you can see much more detail than with the naked eye. I find it amazing and fascinating.
stunning close up! that detail is amazing! this looks amazing when its viewed large too.

Hello,
Saw this in "The shot that must have missed"

I love it.

The only thing I can offer to why it missed with most people would be the tight crop.
The subject runs out of the top left of the field of view. Small detail, but one that I think makes a difference.

Also, is the background water? IT looks almost like silk or velvet. That is pretty. The leaf almost looks like jewelry displayed.

Hope you don't mind the criticism. Follow me as I complete my project and you will have PLENTY of opportunity to do the same.
Thanks,
Adam

@adambralston Hi Adam, thanks for being honest and welcome to 365.
The background was a black silky fabric. Looking forward to seeing your work. Feel free to follow me and tell me what you think:)
