It has just been too hot today. The hottest day of the year so far at 28 degrees centigrade! Poor Lesia our 9 year old GSD has such a thick coat. We decided it was a good time to give her a bath using baby shampoo to get a good lather and make her smell nice! Here she is having a shake as we are trying to hose the bubbles out of her coat. Cooling her down like this really made her perk up! I was tempted to go under the hose too, although didn't need to with all the shaking she did!
@salza@salza wish we had a swimming pool! Although most of the year wouldn't need it. Our last GSD used to smell water on a dog walk and get in before we had time to stop him! On his very first walk as a puppy he walked straight into the canal we were walking along. We had to grab his collar and haul him out. You would think that would have put him off for life, but it did the opposite. Whatever chance he had to go for a swim, he did. Not always in clean water though!
@shepherdmanswife Kaela also marched straight into the deep end of the pool as a pup, and that was in mid winter! Thankfully my hubby grabbed her before she was totally in! Hasn't put her off water at all.
