Guess what these are! by shepherdmanswife

Guess what these are!

@khirsch asked for a more difficult 'guess what' challenge, so here it is.
I hope it's not too easy.
Looking forward to the guesses....don't be shy!!!
Like the photo with all the reflections, no idea what they are, sorry! They do remind me of nutmegs!
July 18th, 2013
@craftymeg no they're not nutmegs but I do see the resemblance . Glad you like the reflections and thank you for being the first person to have a guess! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Hmm nutmeg was my guess as well, but I see I have to try again @craftymeg. Great shot with the reflection

Looks like somekind of nuts to me. Are they seeds of some kind?
July 18th, 2013
@craftymeg @khirsch clue: they are seeds not nuts!
July 19th, 2013
@shepherdmanswife Wasn't to bad with the seed guess, no the question is what kind?
July 19th, 2013
@khirsch that' for you to guess:)
July 19th, 2013
I suspect they are seed pods of, maybe, a flower
July 19th, 2013
@swilde - not a flower, something more edible! :)
July 19th, 2013
Zam
aw man, this is so nice!
July 19th, 2013
I don't know but I love the tones.
July 19th, 2013
@zam @carldry111 come on, have a guess! :)
July 19th, 2013
peas?
July 19th, 2013
Another guess, peppercorns??
July 19th, 2013
Persimmons?
July 19th, 2013
@khirsch @craftymeg @swilde @zam @carldry111 @flossy_101 @craftymeg @khirsch ok, another clue....the flesh around the seed is very yummy! The seed or stone is much bigger than a pea or peppercorn.
July 19th, 2013
@flossy_101 what is a persimmon? Must google it:)
July 19th, 2013
@flossy_101 have looked it up. We call it sharan fruit but its not very popular in the UK. No it's not a persimmon. Have another guess...
July 19th, 2013
Zam
Calimyrna figs ?
July 20th, 2013
a type of apricot?
July 20th, 2013
or prune???
July 20th, 2013
Quondong
July 20th, 2013
@zam @flossy_101 @swilde gosh, what's a quondong? No not apricot, fig or prune. Another clue... Very calorific
July 20th, 2013
Sorry apparently they're spelled quandond (just pronounced to my erratic spelling). They are bush tucker and very delicious fruit. They also make great jam.
July 20th, 2013
@shepherdmanswife I#d guess ice-cream seeds, but since this is impossible :cocoa
July 20th, 2013
Sorry forgot to read the above properly, cocoa is off the list, since the flesch around the seed is't very yummy. Bush or tree fruit?
July 20th, 2013
@khirsch apparently a tree. Had to google to find out. We don't have them in this country. It's native to central mexico.
July 20th, 2013
@shepherdmanswife try to solve the puzzle later , off to the garden we have friends for a BBQ and its still so hot
July 20th, 2013
Another guess pleeez, avocado seeds??
July 20th, 2013
@craftymeg @craftymeg you got it, well done. I guess it was harder than I thought it was but I suppose that's because I knew what they were. I love avocados.
I intend to try to grow them. They'll have to stay indoors if they originate from Mexico as our climate is nowhere near warm enough๐Ÿ˜Š
July 20th, 2013
Haha, the penny dropped you had everyone going for a while, I think I will have to put a what is it photo in my album if I can think of something :)
July 20th, 2013
The one of the far right looks like a chestnut. But I wonder if they are seeds. I tried not to read the thread in case you've solved the riddle. But in spite of non knowing what it is, it's a wonderful image.
July 21st, 2013
@craftymeg I'm following you now so I can have a go at your guess what it is, so hurry up and think of something.๐Ÿ˜Š
July 21st, 2013
@taffy thank you for your comments. The riddle has just been guessed correctly. There are clues in the thread if you want some. Your guess is not correct by the way!
