Muffin, my Ragdoll, taken with my new 50mm lens. Trying to get high key but didn't manage it. Also wanted a soft look which I think has worked.
She's such a poser!
This is beautiful, I think you succeeded making it a soft look too. I must try my 40 mm pancake lens on my Charlie if he would sit still long enough, Muffin looks quite relaxed, while my cat ducks under the table when he sees mŷ camera!
@craftymeg Inca, my Somali cat, runs away as soon as she sees I have the camera out. I don't know why she is so scared. I have to use my zoom lens to get pics of her so she doesn't notice me taking them! Muffin on the other hand.........
Great processing... I think it's borderline high key but if you had blown it out completely you would have lost some of that fantastic detail... Love those eyes... amazing portrait! =) Fav
@shepherdmanswife I know exactly what you mean, although Charlie is not frightened he just looks hacked off so I like you end up using my zoom unless I'm really quick which isn't very often. Also he's black and white which I find quite difficult to get the lighting right at times.
great job with the lighting- even if you didn't quite achieve the high key effect you were after. Wonderful DOF ( Gotta love the nifty fifty :D ). Beautiful cat as well
